The Festival is all about experiencing new local food & drink and enjoying a great family day out. We’ve got a great range of different activities below!
Why not try something new and enjoy lunch out where you can choose between wood fired pizza, organic beef burgers, venison and bison, spicy homemade samosas, Authentic Caribbean BBQ, Indian cuisine and Thai to name but a few. These could all be washed down with an barista coffee, local craft ale and cider, new British cocktails or English wines grown and produced in the Midlands.
We are passionate about supporting up and coming musicians. Rob Lea is a talented, singer, songwriter, who will be running the music stage, at this year’s Ashby Food Gusto Festival, on both the Saturday and Sunday. Having performed at numerous Food Gusto festivals in the last few years, Rob is well adept at providing the perfect backdrop for the event with his unique mix of Pop, Rock and Soul covers.
Rob will also be joined by his good friend Mitch Colcombe across the weekend. Mitch is a fantastic, acoustic performer with a natural talent for captivating an audience with his wide range of chilled out covers of classic and modern hits. The pair will host a laid back music stage welcoming performances from numerous other, talented, local musicians across the weekend such as Dorothy Ella, Warren Stanford, Adam Smyth and Will Underwood.
This year Food Gusto has teamed up again with the Rotary Clubs of Ashby de la Zouch who will be running a Teddy Bear’s Picnic from 11-3pm at the event. At the Teddy bears picnic children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and join in the ‘Find Rotary Gusto Bears Challenge’.
Other children’s entertainment included rides, bouncy slide, face painting, henna tattoos, glitter tattoos and puppet shows.
Jaks Academy will be doing some performances on Saturday 25th from 1.15pm. We also have Dance Network on Sunday 26th at 2pm to do a set of performances.
