Ashby Food Gusto Festival - Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 2018
For two days, thousands joined us for some of the Region's best food & drink producers in Ashby de la Zouch.
Situated in the Bath Grounds in the centre of Ashby de la Zouch there was yet another fantastic line up with more than 70 producers and products from venison, pies, pickles, pates, farmhouse cheese, preserves, olives, artisan bread, crepes, hand crafted chocolates, patisseries to local wines, beers, ciders, spirits and more. There was something for everyone.
Many visitors enjoyed lunch out where they chose between beautiful British hog roast, wood fired pizza, organic beef burgers, venison and bison, spicy samosas, vegetarian/vegan dishes, caribbean BBQ, Indian cuisine and Thai to name but a few.
These were washed down with local craft ale and cider, new British cocktails and English wines grown and produced in the Midlands.
There was a great range of live music during both days of the festival along with performances from two local dance schools, with a line up here. This year Food Gusto teamed up again with the Rotary Clubs of Ashby de la Zouch who ran a Teddy Bear's Picnic from 11-3pm at the event. At the Teddy bears picnic children enjoyed Punch and Judy shows and joined in the ‘Find Rotary Gusto Bears Challenge’.
Other children's entertainment included rides, bouncy slide, face painting, henna tattoos, glitter tattoos and children also purchased a special Gusto Bears Picnic Lunch Box which includes a roll, soft drink, cookie and fruit.
