Nibble, Bite, Eat, Chew. Taste The Difference At Tamworth Food Gusto Food & Drink Festival 2018

If you are a Foodie and love great Food & Drink, then the Tamworth Food Gusto Festival on the 8th and 9th of September is the place to be!
Food Gusto have lined up over 70 of the region’s best Food & Drink producers all hand picked to set your taste buds on fire. All producers are passionate about what they do and creating exciting products made with care and provenance.

The two-day event returns to Tamworth Castle Grounds, with gates open 10:30am-5pm both days. Entry costs £2 with children under 10 free. Tantalising treats on offer include hog roast, bison and venison burgers, wood fired pizza baked before your eyes, plus traditional Indian, Caribbean, Thai, Indonesian, Mexican, Indian, vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as good old English favourites.

Cheese lovers can sample a wide range of flavours such as oak-smoked, cheddar with Port Wine, chilli, garlic and for the brave, fiery dragon. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s handmade chocolates and fudge.
All these can be washed down with locally-brewed beer, real ale, cocktails, English wines, organic wines, prosecco or barista coffees.

International professional chef Simon Smith will be running the demonstration area. You will be able to get up close and enjoy the live cooking demonstrations from the show kitchen. On Saturday Mat Gothard will demonstrate his butchery skills by holding two butchery demonstrations: How to make sausages and How to cut and prepare a side of beef.

In addition to the sight, smell and taste of fine food there will be a full live music line up – easy listening with a glass of wine or beer! On Saturday people can dance and sing along to music from the 1940s and ‘50s with a Cilla Black tribute and mother and daughter duo Sincerely Yours. On Sunday, there will be a group of bands lead by talented local artist Rob Lea. There will be Children’s rides as well as face painting and other activities organised by Tamworth CIC. The event is held in the Castle Pleasure Grounds with easy access from the A5 and surrounding region. There are 9 car parks around town with a map available on the Food Gusto website.
The event gives visitors the chance to find out more about the fantastic businesses they have on their doorstep and to sample some of their exciting creations.

Join the Annual Ashby Food Gusto Festival and experience the Region’s Best Food & Drink on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May

Situated in the Bath Grounds in the centre of Ashby de la Zouch there is yet another fantastic line up with more than 60 producers and products from venison, pies, pickles, pates, farmhouse cheese, preserves, olives, artisan bread, crepes, hand crafted chocolates, patisseries to local wines, beers, ciders, spirits and more. There is something for everyone.

Why not make a day of it and enjoy lunch out where you can choose between wood fired pizza, organic beef burgers, venison and bison, spicy samosas, vegetarian/vegan dishes, Caribbean BBQ, Indian cuisine and Thai to name but a few.

These could all be washed down with local craft ale and cider, new British cocktails and English wines grown and produced in the Midlands.

 

Where possible Food Gusto tries to support local charities and this year Just 4 Children has been selected – with a special focus on Harry Culwick from Packington who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Wesley Ewing states “Food Gusto is all about promoting what the region has to offer in the way of high quality, local-produced food and drink. Our festivals are an explosion on the senses with lots to see and taste, giving people the chance to try new things and also to buy the best food and drink available in our region”.

This year Food Gusto has teamed up again with the Rotary Clubs of Ashby de la Zouch who will be running a Teddy Bear’s Picnic from 11-3pm at the event. At the Teddy bears picnic children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and join in the ‘Find Rotary Gusto Bears Challenge’.

Other children’s entertainment includes rides, bouncy slide, face painting, henna tattoos, glitter tattoos and children can also purchase a special Gusto Bears Picnic Lunch Box which includes a roll, soft drink, cookie and fruit.

Entrance fee is just £2 for adults & children under 12 free, with the event running from 10.30-5pm on the Bath Grounds (LE652GP).

Food Gusto Served Up Great Taste, Provenance, Enjoyment and Passion at Bank Holiday Food & Drink Festival

Thousands of people flocked to the Appleby Magna Food Gusto Festival last Saturday for an amazing day of local and regional food and drink and great weather. Local exhibitors included the famous Brockley’s pies, Tori and Ben’s mouthwatering local beef, Leicestershire Handmade cheese, Hill Farm Venison Packington.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Visitors were entertained by a great line-up of music organised by David Gray including the Old Guys, The Headhunters and Coreil. They were also Heritage tours, art gallery and live art demonstrations by local artist Heather Griffin.

Visitors came from across the region and even included The BBC Apprentice finalist Jessica Cunningham pictured meeting one of her biggest fans Jacob Ewing from Packington.

Free Parking at NW Leicestershire Car Parks This Sunday!

With the second day of the Ashby Food Gusto Festival happening this Sunday, make sure you come down and park for free in one of the North West Leicestershire car parks in the town! Find out more information.

Entrance is £2 for adults with Children under 12 free. Dogs are allowed on site but should be kept on a lead. Dog owners are responsible for picking up any waste.
